I was studying with Jehovah Witnesses and I believe the Holy Spirit told me loudly and distinctly >> “Jehovah is a bad angel! ” … boy was I confused and concerned. I left them a couple yrs ago shortly after. This is the first scriptural explanation I have seen.

I was raised a JW and I know my family had nothing but love in our home from the day we switched from being protestant due to 5 scriptures in the king James bible that led my mother to believe it had to be the truth. The first two translators were executed then the bibles they translated were printed only after the Vatican made their necessary modifications. Just as the king James version also translated by Martin Luther was allowed because he followed the vaticans orders. Otherwise he too would have been martyred like our messiah and all of his disciples but one. Satan is very clever and what better way to mislead 7,000,000 loyal people that follow Gods words as close to what should be under a false Gods name. Nevermind the devil himself. I encourage you to actually compare the tetragrammaton to modern English using any available language chart. And the Yahweh and Jehovah and you will come up with nothing close to comparison. In fact you will get one of two results depending on the syntax . Either David or Devil.

They have stocks on the stock market for methods of mass destruction, including guns war planes abortion medical equipment supplies and tobacco. They give nothing to the poor and sit and wait for the UN to give them orders where they have a seat since the begining of their conception pretty much. The UN is Satan the devil’s headquarters and how he controls the world. The founder of the JWs attended a Seventh day Adventist meeting once got his own ideas and made his own religion prophecising the end and how many times have they don’t this in subsequent years. The bible says turn away from false prophets they are of the anti christ. There’s a reason his tombstone says “the Laocedian messenger” he also built a huge pyramid for his burial site that depicts a cross and a crown with the watchtower written on it A CROSS and blatent idolizing of himself . Maybe look into your history on this religion before standing up for them. I do feel for the witnesses that have been mislead but narrow is way that leads to life and few will find it.

So I beseech you to study to show thyself approved.I started researching because I was reading the book of Psalms and I normally use my favorite bible but I had left it in the car, so I used a random I had lying around the house, not knowing it was an authorized King James. The Tetragrammaton YHWH appears without its own vowels, and its exact pronunciation is debated(Jehovah, Yehovah, Jahweh, Yahweh) The Hebrew. text does insert vowels for adonay and Jewish students and scholars read adonay whenever they see the Tetragrammaton.

I’m not comfortable with this explanation. YH=yah and WH=hovah? I can understand the YH=yah, but how did you get two syllables from WH? Meaning how did you get ho-vah from one syllable WH? And if that’s the case how many possible syllables can you turn YH into to prove a point?

Jehovah is a latinized pronunciation of the Hebrew name for God, most likely pronounced Yahweh, Yehwah or Yehowah in Hebrew. Since it is a latinized pronunciation your argument that it translates to the Hebrew word for calamity or mischief is incorrect. Even strong’s concordance which you base your argument on, points to 1961 hayah as the root of the name Jehovah and not 1943 hovah. You are trying to base your argument across the pronunciation of a word in different languages. To illustrate, in English you could say you “won” something, yet in Korean “won” is a currency. These are totally different languages so therefore have different Meanings. To further illustrate the English name of God Jehovah is pronounced in different ways in different languages and yet all share the same meaning. An example is the doba language say the name Jehovah as Ieoba, the Cherokee language says Yihowa. These all share the same meaning of the name and yet your argument falls completely flat since these forms do not use the pronunciation of “hovah” at all.
Since the Hebrew hayah is the root meaning and not the Hebrew hovah the name implies “ to be, to become, to happen.” What I mean to say is that the English part hovah has the Hebrew meaning of hayah and not the Hebrew meaning of hovah. All of this is based on Strong’s own research which you quoted from.
The last point of argument as to exodus 6:3, why Jehovah had not yet made his name known to them. We do see in earlier verses people using the divine name so this verse is not saying they didn’t know or use the name. As Strong’s explains under Jehovah 3068: “…so God explained the meaning of I am who I am, He spoke to the fathers as YHWH, but the promised deliverance and, therefore, the fuller significance or experienced meaning of His name were unknown to them.” So therefore the forefathers knew and used the divine name, however it was at this point that God explained its grand meaning to them.
You should prayerfully meditate and do research on this subject more because if you are equating Gods name, the name which by your own sources use as the divine name of the true God, with that as Satan, well, I don’t think I need to explain the level of blasphemy that is.
For anyone else reading this, hopefully my explanation helped. Keep in mind that for century after century, bible translators fluent in the Hebrew and Greek languages used the English name Jehovah as the equivalent to the Hebrew divine name meaning I am that I am, which God himself explained to Moses.
